About Document Records (Est. 1986)
At Document Records, we pride ourselves on being a premier source for licensing authentic vintage recordings. Since our establishment in 1986, we’ve uniquely sourced, remastered, reissued, and digitized the vast majority of Afro-American Blues, Gospel, Spirituals, Sermons, and Jazz recordings made between 1900-1945. This monumental project—comprising over 25,000 tracks—is available for licensing, thanks to a global network of collectors, ethnomusicologists, and academics who contributed to the effort.
In addition to our core collection, we maintain a broad archive of Old-Timey Country, Seasonal (Halloween, Christmas), and an unreleased collection of Austrian, Latvian, Scottish, World, and Dance Band recordings on 78 rpm. These are available for licensing upon request.
We provide licensing options for film, TV, advertisements, documentaries, podcasts, and more—with comprehensive worldwide rights for both master and sync licensing.
