About Riley Puckett

Riley Puckett (1894–1946) was one of the pioneers of American country music. He is best known for recording with Gid Tanner and the Skillet Lickers. As a result, his distinctive guitar playing helped define Southern string-band music during the 1920s and 1930s. Today, his recordings continue to inspire musicians, collectors and historians around the world.
